Grateful for Others

I am not the most social person and it is uncomfortable for me to be in groups of people. I prefer a more intimate conversation with those I wish to be with. However, this weekend, I went outside of my comfort zone and ended up going to the Arts Festival in Amarillo. I had a table where I was trying to sell my book "Our Time". My book is not one that people usually buy off of a table in front of others. They look at the picture on the front, smile politely and walk toward other books. My book is the type that they will buy online in the privacy of their home. My book is about surviving abuse and coming out on the other side. Needless to say, I didn't sell any this weekend, but the event was more than worth attending. I shared a table with two other Authors. I usually hate to network, but for some reason on this day, it was easy. I sat down and introduced myself to the other two Authors and we became friends. The energy was perfect and I sat by the right people. I even ventured away from my table to talk to other Authors and to my surprise, they were more than friendly, happy to give me advice and welcomed me into their circle. It was an awesome day. Sometimes there is more than selling books...great friendships are out there waiting as long as you are willing to get out there!!! I am grateful for the people I met this past weekend. Peace...
