A Note to the New Graduates

It is that time of the year when caps and gowns are many, dreams are beginning and the future of our world is in the hands of the younger generation. Congratulations to all of you. You are the change the world needs and I hope you don't take your responsibility lightly. There are people who have made bad choices and put our earth and the humans who live here in jeopardy. Life is precious, our earth is precious and we only have one of each. Today as I reflect on the last 3 years, I am dismayed and disheartened at the state of our world. All of the hate, violence and judgement has just exploded and is condoned. What is wrong is right and what is right is wrong. The good people have to suffer at the hands of others and are threatened by society when they try to stand up for themselves, women's rights are being taken away and a human life is not cherished as it should be anymore. I am ready for a change, a positive change. A change where the only person who has a right to tell me what to do with my body is ME. I am ready for love to take hold again, not greed, lies, authority or control. I challenge all of the new graduates to take a hard look at what they want the world to look like and to do everything in their power to make the change. The older generation such as myself applaud you and will back you any way that we can. Be the change you want to see. Love or the lack of it rule our destiny as a nation, as earthlings. Peace...
